This piece has been inspired by Jean-Michel Basquiat and Aboudia, the process of creating on recycled mannequins is about embodying the human form through different topics. The topic that has been represented on the mannequin below is the struggle of the LGBT+ community. The territory of using mannequin as a canvas is the new territory I am embodying as an artist.

These pieces have been inspired by Jean-Michel Basquiat and Aboudia, they are the exploration of a young queer Mauritian. Using the arts I have found that in utilising the arts to facilitate my self-expression I have been able to develop my sense of identity. My creative practice is genuinely a reflection of my life experience and societal perceptions.
